  Abortion so daughter family doesn't kick her out, her dfed, etc.

  it's sad that someone is thinking bout that because of fear of being cast out by family.

  i don't know this person, but a mutual aquaintence who knows i was a jw told me.

  i'm going to try to relay info to help them.

  All I can say is I know many women myself included who had unplanned children. Not one of them regretted not having an abortion.

  Has anyone knocked on your door recently?

  i am a housewife, and no one has knocked on my door to spread the "truth",not even on the weekends.

  question, has anyone experienced this... or has the preaching work slowed down?

  or are the witnesses less active, zealous?.

  Are you a fader, Df'd, DA'd, or Still In?

  i thought this would be an interesting poll that would show everyone the backgrounds of all of us when we left, if we have.. for myself, i am not df'd, but i am attempting a fade.

  i still go to some meetings with the wife to help with kids, but that's it.

  no commenting or field service.. what about everyone else?.

  I went in after d2d contact and after 3 studies over 10 years eventually got baptised in 1998.

  No-one has spoken to me now for 2 years, so I would class myself as being shunned although I have not been notified that I have been officially d'fd. Not sure what would happen if I went back into a KH.

  My "sin"? An already struggling and depressed single Mum who then got attacked by a masked man in her own home and now finds life even more difficult.

  I have not had a single visit or phone call from any-one since telling them what happened. Now I go on apostate websites and find people in as much pain as me and for the most part people who are supportive.

  Car lease arrangement for circuit overseers?

  i read on the dutch ex-jw forum that a letter was read about a new car 'arrangement' for circuit overseer, district overseer and so on.

  until now paid a town (usually) payed the cost of the car / petrol of such persons.

  Most embarassing JW moment

  mine will surely give me away, but i don't care.

  when i was preggers, i was supposed to have a c-section the first week of the new month.

  so i knew i needed to go out in service so i would not be irregular that month.

  I have a farty story too.

  We were at Tuesday Book study and my 3 year old daughter dropped her teddy off the sofa onto the floor. As she leaned down to retrieve the teddy she broke wind, very loudly. As she straightened up she dropped the teddy again leaned down and let rip again. She dropped it again and as she leaned down for the third she farted once more.

  Me, my other daughter and the sisters sat either side of us were now laughing as quietly as we could and had tears rolling down our cheeks. The brother opposite trying to read is having trouble getting the words out but the elder taking the group had a face like thunder!

  My other embarrassing moment involves the same child when we were very new. I wasn't even baptised. Emma was bit of a handful and I did everything I could to keep her quiet and amused so I could concentrate. She was sat on the floor and found the zipped compartment of my handbag. She got all my feminine hygiene products out, unwrapped them and threw them down the central aisle of the KH.

  What prayers does God answer?

  i have always struggled to understand what prayers god answers and which ones he avoids.

  most religions teach that god answers prayers, so people must feel that their prayers are being answered, yet the type of prayers seem to be very selective.. .

  if god answered broad based prayers, then children in third world countries would not be starving, so he does not seem to interfere in global issues.

  if you ever felt that you really did love god, but no matter what you did, ended up on the outs with your family and with the watchtower anyway..... these words have comforted me.. .

  I can honestly say I have never had a prayer answered....... that couldn't be attributed to either chance or coincidence or sheer hard graft on my part or of some-one else.

  The Next Change: What Are Publishers Worth?

  once upon a time, i invested in an electronics company that increased its profits by over 200% by reducing its customer base!

  this counter-intuitive result came about because they realized that most of their revenue came from a few customers who needed more support.. fast forward to the watchtower: whether they admit it to themselves or not, change will come because they are piling up huge numbers of publishers that are almost useless.

  worse, they eat up published resources without contributing for them...... and they drag the organization down in multiple ways and create more problems.. they have a "growing" problem - with increasingly useless growth.

  How can they judge which pubs are "worth" anything? Unless they fill out a form saying how much they donate or something...

  We paid by direct debit so they would know.
